The softer light

Living in Queensland I rarely get to experience the softer light that I remember growing up in Europe. The morning mists and the filtered sun through the forest's canopy are experienced but a few times  throughout the year.
When in Europe I admire the lifting fog and the clouds clinging to the hills after the rain.

Walking in the forest towards high alpine lakes I was able to capture images that I often try but fail when in Queensland.

January late afternoon on the beach

While some of my friends are enjoying (or hating?) winter in the Northern hemisphere I get the pleasure to walk barefoot on a sandy beach in Queensland.

Time over I have observed a similarity of appearance between dog and owners.

Foreshore playground

There is a dog friendly beach that I like to visit at sunset.
Not all dogs like to chase balls and retrieve sticks, some are just happy to stroll or go for a swim.

Reflection on Saggö ön

We spent 3 days camped in just one location because the granite coast had too much to offer, visually.
Every evening we would wait for the sun to get closer to the horizon before our evening "photographic walk".

The endless low soft light was a visual feast for me, used to sub tropical abrupt sunsets.
The open spaces, gently curved shapes of the polished granite devoid of visual clutter reminding me vaguely of the American South West sandstone desert.

Boulder hopping

Endless hours can be spent exploring the granite shores polished by the glacial action.
High above the shore large boulders lay in the crevices where only winter storm waves can reach them to tumble them.

Walk with Emma

She loves to walk in the forest for the fresh air.
If the weather is warm a quick dip in the refreshing crystal waters of the alpine lake.

Second Magic reflection

There is a skerry in the Stockholm archipelago that I named Second Magic.
I took an evening walk among the coastal puddles to stretch my legs after an all day paddle.

Silver water

A clear stream away from civilization is an oasis for my spirit.
The sound of the rushing water cleans away my internal noise accumulate in the city.

End of summer

Today the weather turned and it took with him the summer spirit.
Shorter days and darker nights are approaching.
A last walk on the beach feeling the ocean between the toes.
